Gluten free and dairy free (if needed) chicken wraps are a quick, versatile meal that are easy enough for children to make. These ones are toasted… yum! You can easily vary the ingredients with sun-dried tomatoes, feta, capsicum, carrot, cucumber, beef, and baby spinach leaves or come up with your own combination.
Ingredients
- Lettuce
- Tomato, chopped
- Cheese, grated(optional)
- Chicken (cooked – if using a pre-cooked purchased chicken, you will need to check if the seasoning and the stuffing is gluten free – generally it is not)
- Spring onions (optional)
- Barbecue Sauce (check it’s gluten free)
- Gluten free wraps (we used corn tortillas)
Instructions
Prepare ingredients – chop or slice.
Preheat sandwich press or fry-pan.
Place ingredients on the wrap and drizzle with barbecue sauce.
Fold over wrap to enclose ingredients and place in heated sandwich press or fry-pan. Cook for 30-60 seconds to lightly toast and serve immediately.
Alternatively, you can warm the wrap in the microwave or frypan, and then add the ingredients and eat as a cold/warm wrap rather than a toasted one.
